Training units
Business mapping & ELM certification
ELM is a business modelling platform allowing agile mapping of enterprise-wide requirements for such models. ELM models are the result of business mapping carried out jointly in interactive, moderated, business-oriented design sessions.
During the workshop, participants work together to identify a company's core business concepts (CBCs) and natural business relationships (NBRs) in order to combine these concepts. The final result is a logical data model serving as input for a data-vault based EDW or other form of integrated data storage.
Data-vault modelling and certification
Data-vault modelling and certification is a hybrid course lasting three days on-site after a two-week period during which on-demand video is made available to participants. On-site time consists of interactive, guided group work to deepen an understanding of data-vault modelling. The course is followed by an online exam in which the participants' acquired knowledge is tested.
Advanced data-vault modelling & lab
This phase is only possible after participation in the course on data-vault modelling and certification!
The next level of specialization after the course on certified data-vault modelling is a course on advanced data vaults. This course consists of two intensive days of interactive modelling and group-case analysis.
The course takes an example-oriented approach based on more than a dozen real-world modelling cases. Through interactive group analyses and discussions which take into account the course participants' experiences, various alternatives are ascertained, studied and prioritized. Finally, they are classified and categorized on the basis of best-practice considerations, advantages/disadvantages, and expected compatibility with the specific business scenarios.

Hans Hultgren - President/Instructor
Hans is president of the Genesee Academy and director of top of minds AB. He is a lecturer in data warehousing, business intelligence and big data. He is also an author, speaker and consultant. He currently works on business intelligence and enterprise-data warehousing (EDW), with a focus on ensemble modelling and data vaults, mainly in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Denver, Sydney and NYC.
Hans has published a data modelling book titled "Modelling the Agile Data Warehouse with Data Vault".
Remco Broekmans - Vice President of International Programs/Instructor
Remco is vice president of international programs at Genesee Academy and works in business intelligence and enterprise-data warehousing (EDW), with a focus on modelling and architecture, including ensemble and data-vault modelling. He works internationally in Europe and is based in the Netherlands.
Remco worked for several consultancies in the Netherlands as a consultant for business intelligence in the areas of reporting, ETL and modelling, before founding his own companies, Coarem and BI Academy. He has 15 years of teaching experience in business intelligence and data warehouses.
